I had a horrible experience with Deptford Surgery. Myself and my partner can never get an appointment and being told to call again the next day or go to the walk in centre.
I was really unwell at one point and needed to see a doctor but could not get an appointment and was told to visit the Waldron centre walk in. This was incredibly difficult as I was extremely fatigued, ill and having to wait for the walk in appointment felt like an eternity. It was then I came out in a rash, along with a sore neck I thought I had meningitis. I was not seen promptly and was told to wait by the receptionist due to the large amount of people wanting to be seen.
In the end in a state of panic and feeling severely unwell I ended up leaving and calling an ambulance on myself. This I felt so awful for but felt I had no other choice. I then got to Kings College and was diagnosed with a viral infection that spread to my face and lower body and remained there for the duration of two weeks.
I work for the NHS for 10 years and being treated like this really disappointed me as I felt there was no compassion, organisation and lack of empathy for each patient.
I work for Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital and I couldn’t quite believe that the staff at Deptford surgery/Waldron centre could not assess or help and attend to people who say and look acutely unwell.
Will be leaving Deptford Surgery and hoping to join another with hopefully more professional staff.
