"Amazing support given following diagnosis and surgery."

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecological oncology

(as the patient),

It has been 5 years since I had surgery for vulval cancer and this week I have been discharged from the care of the Clinical Nurse Specialists within the gynaecological oncology department.

I would like to thank particularly Emma the Specialist Nurse who has been with me every step of the way with the regular routine follow up appointments over the past 5 years. To have a service that is run by such empathic and knowlegeable nurses providing such support to patients who are feeling so vulnerable and anxious is invaluable. I felt I wasn't alone in my journey and this had a positive impact on my recovery.

Dear Hilds,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us, please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you on here. I was so pleased to read about the care Emma has given you every step of the way over the past 5 years. It is lovely to see that the support you were given throughout your journey has been invaluable, that you felt you were not alone during your treatment, and ultimately seeing this as a positive impact on your recovery.

I am responding to you as a member of the Patient and Family Experience Team here at the Trust, but I will ensure that I share this with Emma, I am sure she will be delighted to receive such lovely feedback.

Best wishes,

Jess
