"What used to be a good surgery is now not the case"

About: Lime Tree Surgery

There is a wait of between 2 and 4 weeks for a non-urgent appointment. There appears to be nothing in between a long wait and very urgent same day appointments.

In my most recent dealing with the surgery I was spoken to very rudely by staff both on reception and by the admin person who gave me my blood test results.

I queried the information given to me with my results which was that no follow up required. The test had shown a very high cholesterol reading. The admin assistant said 'Look, it's only gone up a bit since the last test - it was 6.6 then and now it's 7.2... what's your problem?' I asked her to double check that the doctor had actually said that I didn't need follow up as I assumed there would be a need for medication she said ' Just because other people take tablets it doesn't mean you need to'.

Following advice from Heart UK and a local Pharmacist I decided that I did need a GP appointment. I phoned and was asked the reason for my call... I told the receptionist the above. The response was 'OK, so why do you want to see a doctor?'. Eventually I was given a telephone apointment but I was left feeling very annoyed at being treated so badly.

My appointment with the GP was satisfactory but I found the admin person and receptionist rude and unprofessional.

I have tried to change to another surgery but unfortunately this is the only one available in this catchment area. As I said in the heading, the surgery used to be good - sadly, this is no longer the case.

I am very sorry to read that you have had such a negative experience with us. All of or teams hope to deliver a high quality and professional service.

If you would like me to look at your case in more detail, please email cwsccg.ltsreception@nhs.net with your name and contact details and I (Tom Micklewright, Practice Manager) will call you at a mutually convenient time.

I hope that this experience alone will not change your opinion of the Practice and that you will continue to have more positive experiences in future. If however you feel unable to stay with the Practice, please let me know and I'll do what I can to help you register with another neighbouring practice.

Thank you for your feedback.
