"The after care following gall bladder removal operation"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

Shocked to find lack of care and disorganisation on a ward

The operation went well I was informed but due to a bad reaction of vomiting and dizziness I was told that I needed to stay in hospital until they were sure I was ok. I was taken to ward 5a.

The next morning I saw a doctor who said I could go home at approximately 11am. I called my friend to fetch me.

4 hours later, there was no sicknote or discharge latter completed by lady Doctor  there were other patients also waiting for these.

I could not delay my friend further so left.

I was informed that all the Doctors were new, and did not know the processes.

During my stay on this ward I do not feel I was given sufficient care.
