My husband was admitted to A&E with an acute pain in his lower left back and had been passing blood for several days. His G.P. had referred him for an urgent C.T. scan following three emergency appointments at the surgery. He had a C.T. scan within 24 hours of admission and the following day he was diagnosed with a left kidney tumour. Following a biopsy a week later which confirmed the tumour was quite large, he was scheduled for a nephrectomy which took place on the 24th October.
From the day of admission in A&E to the day he left hospital following the operation we were both treated with respect and care and everything was explained to us.The Uro-Oncology staff including the surgeon were excellent, they understood what a shock we had when we received the news and dealt with us in a caring but professional manner.
We would like to thank all staff including surgeon, nurses, and meals and tea ladies for the care they showed to us.
"Excellent Care"
