"Poor - no appointments"

I very rarely go to the doctors and I must say I found the service terrible. I was told yesterday to call the next day at 8am to get an appointment within the next 2-5 days, you would think that would be achievable! Today I phoned the surgery from 8am and it was engaged until 8.19am using call back service on my mobile. Then I was placed on hold for a further 5 minutes. Finally spoke to a receptionist who was pleasant but told me that no appointment across all 3 sites in the next 5 days was available. How do I see a doctor ? Told again to call back in 5 days. Are people taking themselves of to A&E to see someone? I have a doctor calling me this morning to discuss my mental problem but I’m not sure how helpful that will be when I need a physical examination! Since I last went to the surgery pre- takeover it has really gone downhill.

Dear Patient

I am very sorry that you were not happy with your experience when making an appointment. We are striving to ensure that all our patients are able to have a consultation with a clinician when required. We have some appointments available with a GP every morning for the next 2-5 days . If a patient requires the same day consultation we offer the same day call back service and if necessary they will be offered an appropriate appointment.

Please do no hesitate to contact our management team if you would like to discuss your specific issues directly as we take all our feedback very seriously and use it to improve our services.
