My partner of 21 years suffered a massive stroke in August 2018 no warnings nothing so we dont no the reason for this. Anyway he also suffered swelling on the brain and had to have a craniotomy on the left side of his head therefore he is right side paraplegic.
He was in the Queen Elizabeth hospital to begin with then moved to Crosshouse. When a space became available at the Douglas Grant rehabilitation he was there for a number of months getting intense physiotherapy and speech as well. Now when he started he was getting hoisted but due to the amazing work and I really mean amazing work his physio Audrey has done with him and still doing he can now walk up a flight of stairs and is getting movement in his right arm. I never thought he would even walk again let alone walk up stairs and its all down to her dedication to him and myself. He loves working with her. There was a slight setback when Audrey stopped working with him and 2 weeks later and my partner was discharged. It knocked his confidence massively as hes still got a lot in him yet so when we were back over getting assessed for botox Audrey was back and she took him back on. He was elated to say the least as myself was too. So we would both like to thank Audrey from the bottom of our hearts she is an amazing physiotherapist who really cares individually for the care of her patients.
"Excellent service"
