"Poor Asthma Management Systems In Place"

About: Bowling Hall Med Practice

This is my second entry in the same month.

After having requested my preventer inhaler which now has one dose remaining on 2 separate occasions (once online then verbally), the reliever was issued instead, something which I had not requested.

After finally succeeding in getting an appointment for review with the nurse, I was met by an impatient receptionist who interrupted me, rolled her eyes.and stated that the request had to go to the Pharmacist & the duty GP didn't class this as an email emergency.

No practice manager or assistant practice manager or pharmacist availabile.

I do not work understand how to his practice di not have alternative way to ensure an an asthma review and issuing a repeat cannot be achieved in an intelligent electronic way.

This practice is advertising push doctor, if they cannot get the basics right what is the point.

Thank you for your feedback regarding asthma management. While inhalers are a common prescription or people with Asthma it is still unsafe to continue to prescribe these without adequate monitoring of your Asthma symptoms. This involves reviewing your inhaler technique as well as taking various breathing measurements. These cannot be done over the telephone. Once an appointment for your review is booked we can issue medications to last until your review.
