"Unbelievably busy"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

I fortunately rarely need a hospital and after today I hope I don’t.. I had fractured ribs and bruising after falling.. An hour to get to triage,, two hours twenty minutes later still in the same place,, people who came in after me were being seen

I went to reception who sent me through the swing doors to enquiries which was twice as packed as the room I came from.. Staff are overworked and look stressed ,, I spoke to someone who when I asked how much longer I would be waiting she said “how long is a piece of string” . I cancelled and came home,, Stepping Hill had 7 ambulances today outside with people in,, it is all very sad,, the new reception area is very nice which is all well and good but why not spend money on new staff.. I came home and doses myself up on paracetamol none the wiser if my ribs are actually properly fractured or cracked...

Stepping Hill I hope I never have to come again
