"Wonderful Care and Support on Ward 15"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

From the moment that my wife and I arrived at 7:30am at Ward 15, we were treated with courtesy and respect. I was to have a biopsy of my prostate.

All of the staff were friendly and caring so that I felt completely at ease in caring out their requests. They treated me with dignity and explained all necessary details with professionalism and patience.

The doctor who was to carry out the biopsy was helpful in explaining what would happen.

The staff in the operating room made me feel at ease even though I was in a less flattering position.

I should like to particularly thank the nurse who sat beside me during the operation and gave a gentle explanation of what was happening. I appreciate that I am not allowed to mention her name but I am very grateful for her considerate support.

I would also especially like to thank the doctor who performed the operation because he kept me aware of each step and made the experience as good as possible.

All staff were very considerate. I was very grateful for the kindness in supplying my wife and I with hot tea and toast after I came out of the surgery.

I now have many fond memories of the staff in ward 15. You have inspired me to look into becoming a volunteer at my local hospital in North Tyneside.

Dear Michael,

Wow what an incredible review for our team, I can see you have put a lot of thought into this and I could not be more grateful. I am pleased your dignity was maintained throughout your procedure, this is so important. It’s also nice to read that your wife was looked after too. Your review will be shared with the team on Ward 15 this morning – what a great start to the week for them. It’s fantastic that you have been so inspired by your care that you have taken to volunteering, welcome to Northumbria!

Take care,

Tracy
