"Getting appointment difficult"

About: Portsdown Group Practice

Tried phoning 3 times this week was on phone in queue for about an hour in total to then be advised that no appointments were scheduled and to phone again next Tuesday.

Gave up and got an appointment at the Spire.Hospital same day. and will get. necessary treatment next week . This is self funded. I assume.that.if.I am in great.pain I should now.go to.Accident.and.Emergency.

I would suggest that if.you are.in the.queue to get an appointment, I think a message should be given while.waiting that no appointments are.available. I appreciate that.there is a shortage of GPs.but.there.must.be a.better.way.to care.for.patients.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.
