I saw a Dr at Adelaide St pain management clinic ..(Norwich)
I was offered talking therapeutic therapy to help with my severe pain ..
I really was shocked , as I had been told at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital by two consultants that the pain clinic was the way forward for nerve blocks etc
( I am not saying that's the answer , but I had a witness and this option was discussed twice ..) I was feeling relieved to be seeing someone who could help with pain
Cause at this stage unknown , if cause can't be found I accept that but please give me access to a Dr who understands I am person with pain .. ( patient ) label was given and I was spoken to in a way which left me stressed ..and undermined and I feel misunderstood
( these are my feelings as practitioners are all different with attitudes etc )
But CBT to help my pain , no , I made that clear that won't assist me ..
I have a fantastic GP who I can talk to and have access to support
The whole experience was not a physical intervention to assist me
I was told I related pain to past painful experiences, yes both of those experiences needed surgery .. I couldn't get anywhere with this said Dr
I remain in excruciating pain .. talking is not the answer ..
Intervention in a physical way I know is ...
What next .. I don't know , I have waited so long for some pain assistance ..
There are many drugs out there .. but a very difficult practitioner who didn't help or support me .... ( my feelings )
"Severe pain"
