"utter chaos"

The ward was utter chaos. Felt genuinely scared leaving my elderly mother in the care of these people. I would like to have stayed to make sure that she was safe but was told in no uncertain terms that I was not welcome. Lights were still on and the ward was noisy and poorly staffed late at night when I reluctantly had to leave. No one seemed to be charge, no one knew what was going on and medical staff were rude and dismissive and the nurses were run ragged. The place was dirty and part of the ward was falling to bits. I had to bring in food for my mother as the food on offer was cold and inedible, especially for an elderly person. Would not wish this on anyone.
