My husband sustained a brain injury after falling down some steps and hitting his head. Damage to the right frontal hemisphere of his brain in particular caused a change in personality some paranoia and for a time manic behaviour. All of this was frightening making the last 7 months or so a very anxious and difficult time. My husband is better now, there are subtle changes, but nothing too dramatic. I am still nervous at times when I observe those changes, lest they herald a return of how things were only just a few weeks ago.
The care received from all staff at the Western Astley Ainslie and laterally The Royal Edinburgh has been without exception faultless professional and kind. The care is ongoing. I am attending counselling at the Astley Ainslie with Kirsty ( extremely perceptive ) and until recently both my husband and myself were helped by the services of Anne the speech therapist there -she's a star!
Thank you all
