"Appalling treatment of ill child"

I rang up for a same day appointment for my son who is 5 years old, who has puss coming out of his ear and is complaining of ear ache. After almost 30min on hold (I rang up at 8am exactly) I was informed I could not have a same day appointment for him unless I keep him off school and wait for a nurse to ring back because he had to be with me. He is fit for school but not 100% right. He is under ENT thus it's recurring incident and he simply needs antibiotics today. He has vusavle signs of puss coming out of his ear. I told the receptionist this but was informed the only way for him to be seen today was to go to the walk in centre. He is my son and is my priority, so we went to the walk in immediately. They took one look and immediately told us his ear is bright red, inflamed and full of puss & he was stabbed and given the antibiotics needed. Hes now happy back in school. WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING A DOCTORS!!! Appointment polices and rules need reviewing depending on the circumstances. I shouldn't have to make my son miss school to get a same day medical appointment. Disgusted! Will be moving the entire family to an alternate doctors. Not the first time this has happened.
