"Total waste of NHS resources"

Not the first time I have been here. It took 15 appointments over 6 months and constant phone calls for appointments for an injection to be told after 2 visits for them to do the injection that I needed to be referred to an Orthopaedic Consultant. That was in 2018. After a visit today November 2019, that again I waited four weeks to get an appointment with me having to contact them for, I staggered in, hardly able to walk, to be told that warm water would help my painful ankle and that as I had had steroid injections in other areas before that I could have one in my ankle. As far as I was aware that was why my GP had referred me in September, I was expecting to have the injection today. Instead I was told that the earliest appointment was a six week wait! I hobbled out the same as I had hobbled in. The person I saw could see that I was in sever pain and expected me to wait another six weeks! I walked out and said I was going to complain and write a review. I was driving home and after about five minutes, I received a phone call saying that the person I saw, no idea who he was as he hadn’t even introduce himself or have a name badge, said that he had had a cancellation and could give me a injection if I wanted to go back, I declined as I was almost home and had no confidence what so ever to go back after the way I had been treated This service is a waste of NHS funds. I am an NHS employee and feel strongly about saving money to keep the NHS. My husband also had a similar experience with Ravenscroft, they injected his painful thumb a couple of times and by the time nothing had worked, nearly 3 years later, his whole thumb joint had disintegrated and he has had to have major surgery to remove the joint. I have never seen anyone here that has any compassion or thought of the pain that patients are suffering and the months waiting and phone calls that have to be made to even get seen. It’s disgraceful.
