"Bad advice"

About: City Health Centre

I attended the walk in twice in three months with the same problem that wasn't treated sufficiently. They did a test on a sample at the walk in and both times they told me to take the sample to my GP for 'further' testing, which I did. My GP has since told me that the test that they do on a urine sample is no more than what they would do at the walk in so I'm confused as to why I was told to take my sample to my doctors when apparently they can do no more and tell me no more than they could at the walk in. Apparently both trips were unnecessary and a waste of time for me and my GP.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate all feedback both good and bad in an effort to continually improve the service.

We are sorry to hear you have been unhappy with your recent visits to the walk in centre. If you would like to contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager I would be happy to discuss this with you in further detail.

Regarding samples, the walk in centre can do a simple 'dip' test which will indicate whether or not there is an infection but for a more detailed test, i.e. to find out the 'type' of infection the sample would need to be sent to a laboratory for processing. Hence the reason you would have been advised to take a sample to your GP as we can not send samples to the lab for patients that are not registered with us.

I am sorry to hear you feel your attendances were a waste of time and again if you would like to discuss this further, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Ashley

Practice Manager
