"I look forward to every Friday"

About: St Lukes Hospice

(as a service user),

I am 92. I live in my home. Been coming to the Hospice for over a year. I really love it. I love the company when I come to the Hospice, I love the garden, I love the staff, I love the food. The staff are very good listeners. I also like the walks.

It would be nicer to see a greater mix of men and women.

Hello. Thank you very much for sharing your experience of St Luke's Hospice with Care Opinion. Your feedback is very important to us.

From your comment it appears that your experience of attending the hospice is a positive one. Hospice staff, patients, visitors and volunteers are lucky to have access to a beautifully peaceful and tranquil garden in the grounds of St Luke's Hospice. The garden is cared for by an army of volunteers and provides a space to sit quietly and reflect or to walk around and gain some exercise. I am pleased to see you love the garden, I will pass on your comments to the gardeners.

Thank you for your comments regarding the balance of men and women. Myself and the team are aware that on Fridays the ratio of women to men is higher. As part of our service review in 2020 we are going to look at what we can do differently to appeal to men for example; organising activities which may appeal more to the male population.
