"Awful practice"

About: Cranbrook Medical Practice

Just after 8am my 5 month old baby fell and banged her head so I called 111 immediately asking for advice and they told me to go to my GP within 2hrs so that the doctor could see her and sign her off. The lady said she had emailed over the assessment and that I should call to get my appointment as the GP practice will be expecting me - they did not, the receptionist couldn’t even find the assessment. I called at 8:30am and she told me the next available appointment is at 5pm which obviously wasn’t good enough as this was 9hrs later and not 2hrs! I explained what the lady at 111 told me and how they have a duty of care to see my 5 month old baby, her words - ‘oh yeh they always tell you to say that’ regardless of whether they told me to say it or not.. it’s true! I work in a dental practice myself, so I know the rules.

I asked if there was anyway they could just squeeze her in and she put me on hold, she came back to me and said ‘no sorry I’ve asked the manager and the only appointment we’ve got is at 5pm’

I feel really this receptionist was rude and could not have cared less and I’ll be looking for an alternative GP practice.
