"A thoroughness I've never known"

With regards to a pre assessment appointment I had at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

I had a pre assessment appointment for my gallbladder operation with Claire and Karina, it was really quite exceptional. I've never had such a thorough medical before - so thorough, so patient, they went over everything. I thought I just must give them the benefit of this feedback, although it has taken me a couple of weeks to get round to it.

I've been waiting 16 months for this operation (that's nothing to do with the staff, mind you) so it has been some time but the staff really cannot be faulted. I have had several operations before but this one had a thoroughness I've never known. Even when I had my hysteroscopy, it was just come in and get sounded but this time they gave me blood tests, checked everything, ecg, went over every previous operation and how they went.

The whole thing gives a great sense of security that my operation will be in good hands. I am 72, and I really do appreciate that I was treated this way, not a hint of age discrimination - they still give such a good treatment regardless at any age.
