"Poor patient care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I was admitted into ward 18 for surgery on my left hand in the early hours of the morning. Surgery took place around 11am it is now after 8pm and I have spoken with ZERO doctors. It’s only your amazing nurses who have been outstanding for me and who I cannot thank enough - has kept me sane.

I have just been informed that ortho doctors don’t see patients at night and that the surgeon who completed the operation has already left the hospital,  a complete and utter disgrace that they cannot see to their patients. By the time I leave I plan on making a formal complaint. I am aware it is a very busy hospital and emergency’s happen, although for me not to have been notified of this (if there even was any emergencies) is not right in the slightest.

I want to finish with I said to a staff member that my left leg was extremely tingly and didn’t feel right and after 2 hours, still no doctor.

I wait intently on your response

Thank you
