"Excellent care from each department"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery Crosshouse Hospital / Endoscopy Crosshouse Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as a service user),

I attended the hospital and was admitted due to severe stomach spasms. I just wanted to give some feedback about the excellent care I received from the nurses, assistants and surgical team. Especially those in care of ward 4a room 401, those in day surgery and the endoscopy team. Hospitals can be very daunting as your life is quickly thrown into turmoil. Anxiety can develop very quickly when you do not know what is wrong and you worry that you might have to go for surgery.

All I can say is the staff in 401 were absolutely fantastic at ensuring these anxieties stayed at a minimum truly professional when it comes to patient care (especially Suzanne). Through my professional background I know how important patient care and bedside manner is in aiding a patients ability to heal and i can honestly say I witnessed these teams do this for every patient.

I would say the same for the teams in radiology and endoscopy who really put me at ease when realising how anxious I was about having something put down my throat. 

Mr Ray ensured my symptoms were thoroughly investigated. 

A Massive thank you to all those who cared for me under stressful working conditions.

I have passed on “your massive thanks”. This is a lovely accolade to all the teams you mentioned and I am sure you will have put a spring in a few steps with your kind words.

Receiving good care can be very helpful in the healing process, as you quite rightly say, and the value of this kind feedback should never be I underestimated. When staff hear about “satisfied customers”, it really does make a difference to them. So thank you for taking the time to share this with us.

Alongside all of this, it warms my cockles too.
