After leaving surgery from Hospital and having no aftercare plan given or any information as to where to get a redressing done the M.I.U at gravesend hospital were beyond helpful. I was seen swiftly with little wait time. Upon my first visit I was treated by a male staff member who was exceptionally helpful when re doing my wound dressing. He was also very helpful as to advise me where to get the dressing and packing that I would need, which hadn’t been explained to me by from the hospital I had surgery. He dealt with my wound swiftly with care and compassion, while making me feel comfortable as this was the last place I had available to me to get my dressing re done. I was also seen by another staff member at the M.I.U at gravesend hospital who treated my wound dressing with care and delicacy. This staff member made me feel comfortable and respected as I had explained to her that I had been struggling to get post surgery care for my wound. She was very understanding and made me feel very welcomed at the M.I.U while treating my wound and dressing efficiently and quickly. I was treated with much more care, compassions and respect than Darent Valley Hospital where I had my surgery. I was very taken back that a smaller hospital such as gravesend community hospital had high levels of care and compassion towards their patients than a larger hospital such as Darent valley. Gravesend community hospital Minor Injury’s Unit did a great job while treating well and I am beyond pleased with the care they have provided me. This would be an example towards other hospitals and how they treat patients. I would like to thank gravesend hospitals M.I.U for all their help and care provided it’s much appreciated.
