We registered with Watford Gen when my wife became pregnant. Right from our first midwife appointment up until the delivery of our baby and discharge, the service and care provided has been absolutely faultless! We had a difficult labour and I was humbled by the amount of help, resources and dedication we received from every single person on the wards. They were so kind, friendly and resolute in their determination to help deliver a healthy baby and ensure my wife was fine as well.
We were never left to want for anything, there were dr's / surgeons on hand to provide assessments, senior mid-wives keeping an eye on proceedings, giving lots of advice and getting stuck in when needed, also mid-wives were always with my wife monitoring her and the baby to make sure all was ok and always encouraging her and me. They always showed lots of empathy at all times, appreciating that its an emotional and difficult time for all involved.
All this was done, whilst still running a busy maternity department, I don't know how they did it but they're all heroes! We feel so blessed by the care we received and its so obvious every single person has a genuine passion for their job and a innate desire to help.
We all know the NHS is struggling with lack of funds etc, but you would never know it with the utter dedication by the mid-wives and nurses, countless times they went above and beyond for us.
They have our utmost respect and heartfelt thanks for the work they did and continue to do and all with a warm smile on their faces.
My wife would like to add, she felt comfortable with all members of the maternity team, and was impressed by how seamlessly she was transferred from birthing centre to delivery suite when required. She has complete trust in the professionals involved and they made a real difference in the final difficult stages of labour and helped to ensure the baby was delivered safely.
We whole-heartedly would recommend Watford General Maternity services, they are superb!
"Excellent Maternity services and staff!"
