I was driven to accident and emergency by my son and I had to spend a couple of hours in their resuscitation unit but throughout the whole time I was conscious and therefore got a real insight into the sheer professionalism of the A & E dept. I was monitored the whole time I was in there but also saw the preparation to receive the casualties of a road traffic accident . They had about 10 minutes warning that an extremely seriously injured patient was on the way and within minutes a dozen or more staff had assembled ,formed themselves into a team with everyone briefed as to what their role would be and were fully prepared to receive the patient . This was done whilst other emergency patients were also being brought in for treatment and was done calmly and efficiently .I was impressed by everything I saw and reassured that I was in safe hands. I am not allowed in this review to name the individuals involved and I can understand why but I do believe that there should be some way of praising staff who are dedicated professionals and show genuine concern and all done in a friendly manner . I wouldn't particularly want to go through the experience again but in the last 4 months I have been treated by Cardiologists , Electrophysiologists , Anaesthetists , Technicians , Surgeons , Theatre staff , Porters ,Doctors and nurses from India , Italy , Spain , the Czech Republic , South Africa , Thailand and many other countries in the world including , of course , the UK and I can definitely say our NHS is enhanced by this diversity of staff and I am convinced is all the better for it . Thank you to every single one of you and keep up the good work
"excellent staff"
