"Friendly staff but a long wait"

About: James Paget University Hospital

I had to wait 55 minutes after the time of my appointment before seeing the person I was there to see. There were no 'approximate waiting times' visible in the waiting area and the receptionist didn't inform me they were running behind. I understand the NHS is overburdened at the moment, but the common courtesy of keeping me informed would have made my visit easier. My husband has a brain injury but wanted to accompany me to this appointment, however, he doesn't cope well if things don't run to time.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am sorry to hear that you had a long wait without being informed. Where delays are expected, these are usually displayed on notice boards in the departments and/or staff will keep patients informed. I am sorry that this was not your experience. If you would like to provide information regarding the department and clinic attended, we can share this feedback with staff to ensure that communications are further improved. Please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Services Team on 01493 453240 should you wish to provide further information.

Kind Regards

Amanda Hood
