"My father who has Vascular Dementia"

About: Pallion Health Centre Sunderland Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency Sunderland Royal Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

My father who has vascular dementia and a really bad patient, who has never been in hospital, had to visit the WIC at Pallion recently for treatment.

The care and support He received was amazing from the WIC to the  T&O OP appointment He had a couple of days later.  All of the investigations, bloods and Xrays which eventually help get him diagnosed.

He is on the mend now and recovering from his ordeal, but my Mother who is his main carer would like to thank all of the staff in the WIC/A&E/Xray and the T&O Doctors/Consultants who in her opinion did a fantastic job and showed great respect and dignity to my Father at every step of his journey.

Well done to you all.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We understand that receiving treatment can sometimes be a nerve-wracking experience, especially for our patients with dementia. We're therefore delighted to hear that the care and support he received was amazing and that he was rightfully treated with both respect and dignity. Should your mother need to attend our hospital with your Dad in future, she can find out more information for carers on our website here: https://www.stsft.nhs.uk/patients-and-visitors/visiting-times-and-information/information-carers
