"Infuriated at the parking situation"

About: University Hospital Wishaw University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Really disappointed and infuriated at the parking situation in Wishaw General. It is difficult enough to get parked in the morning but, now even trying to drop off at the front door is becoming increasingly difficult.   Cars are parked at the front door from early morning by what I'm lead to believe are staff members - as it is the same cars continually parked. My dad has to attend on a regular basis and it's getting harder to even drop him off at the door as he is too ill to walk. It's a shame as the care he receives is first class.

Dear Mr Y,

Thank you for acknowledging the first class care that your dad receives when attending. I completely understand your frustration regarding parking and I'd like to apologise for the difficulties you've experienced with parking.

We recognise that parking is an issue for people attending hospital at what can already be anxious time but I'm sure you'll appreciate this is not an "easy" fix. My colleagues in the Planning Department are continually reviewing aprking arrangements at NHS facilities throughout Lanarkshire and we're hoping to test some alternative parking solutions during this year.

Kind regards

Rick
