It is impossible to see a doctor at this surgery, even when you are told to make a follow up appointment in two weeks by the doctors themselves, the receptionists will not do it, the first appointment they would offer was in 6 weeks time, when we insisted it had to be sooner we were finally offered a phone call in 3 weeks time, a phone call really isn’t acceptable given the investigations I’m having and the need to have checks that can only really be done in person, the only reason we are writing this review is that we feel the need to raise the issue of how appointments work at this practice and looking at the responses on the patient survey on this website we are not alone, we believe this surgery’s approach effectively putting the screening of patients in the hands of receptionists shouldn’t be acceptable. Please do something to improve your appointment service for your patients.

We are sorry for your experience. We continue to review the model of providing the patient with an appropriate appointment with the appropriate clinician in the appropriate timeframe. Our receptionists do not screen appointments. They can only offer appointments which are available on the system.

We monitor our workforce capacity. Compared to national data, we are adequately staffed for a practice of our size. We do continue to monitor this.

We would most appreciate you contacting the Surgery so we can investigate your specific circumstances if, given the investigations you were undergoing, you were not offered an appointment by the GP.
