I write to express my gratitude for the manner in which I was treated in your Accident and Emergency department on 30 October 2019. All staff concerned could not have been more pleasant and helpful if they had tried!
I had friends visiting me from Australia, one of whom is an insulin dependent diabetic. He will be away for a month and had miscalculated his medication - and didn't bring enough insulin to see him through until his return. I took him to the A and E department to see if they would be kind enough to sort him out with a prescription which they did - as quickly as they could!
First of all, the receptionist was lovely and when she understood our problem said, "I will speak to a doctor and see if he can organise it quickly for you because there is a two hour wait!"
The girl did this, came back and informed us that he would sort it when he had finished with the current patient. The doctor in question did exactly as he promised; we were taken to his surgery and he sorted it in a couple of minutes. This man was also brilliant and couldn't have been more helpful! (He was obviously a pleasant and considerate man; the receptionists would not have been able to approach him so easily had he been otherwise.)
I can't begin to tell you how proud this all made me feel. I have guests staying with me from another country and representatives from MY country treat them in this way. It is lovely that he can take this positive experience home with him.
I would be grateful if you could convey my thanks to all concerned. I still want you to know who she was though as she can connect you with the doctor concerned.
Kind Regards
