"Forced to leave "

I am absolutely devastated to be told my husband and I can no longer be a patients at this fantastic GP practice . We moved a few hundred meters away from our previous address and have been told we are now out of the area , despite living only 2 miles from the Little Ridge surgery . I am more upset with our fantastic GP saying we could stay during a face to face discussion then finding that decision overturned without explanation. GP services in our area are in crisis and the only surgeries taking on new patients have poor reviews or are in special measures . I find myself faced with the choice of no GP or a GP others would not recommend.

I would like however , to say thank you for the wonderful care we have had over the years from moving with our GP from a previous surgery to more recent support at the Beaconsfield practices.

A bit of feedback however , which I would have preferred to say directly but haven’t been given the opportunity ,is that I think it would have been more acceptable and fair for the GP who’s care we have been under to have made the decision on whether we could stay and written the letter informing us , not a GP who we have never met . This seems especially upsetting as the initial decision appears to have been renegade upon . The NHS allows people to chose a practice that “suits their needs “ but this practice is choosing not to allow this option “ our patient list size is growing due to GP surgeries in our area who have currently closed their Practice lists “I am sad that long term patients like us are suffering because of this policy . We have repeat prescriptions we are not going to be able to get and have undergone recent investigations that need treatment , non of which you can get from the local Walk -in practice . What an awful situation to find ourselves in for moving a few hundred meters....
