Quite simply, find another practice, go to A&E or maybe a pharmacist. Buy some plasters. Bit of DIY. Even use
Dr. Google (not always a good idea though).
There have been some small positive changes since the CQC became involved, but by no means enough. In fact some things have become even worse. Being referred, or anything administrative an impossible process.
One doctor in particular a little heavy handed with the ten minute rule. Short sighted when there may be a link between conditions. Reply is, come back and make another appointment. Surely a much greater use of resources in the long run for the sake of a few more minutes (appreciate countrywide time limits). Always pleading overworked, yet waiting area often empty. You can be kept waiting for 45 minutes, but if a little late yourself, appointment lost (despite likely running late).
Seems a substantial lack of knowledge and advice of local services and practice responsibilities for certain illnesses. Invaluable if you don't have the time or knowledge to spend hours finding out yourself. Slowly catching up with technology, but constantly changing and not used proper capacity.
In general, can't fault receptionists, currently maybe some of the best this practice has had. But their hands often tied by decisions from the very top, and have witnessed calls being ignored on occasions.
"You will feel more unwell after a visit here."
