"Left us extremely unhappy"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency University Hospital Ayr / General Medicine

(as a relative),

A&E is filthy and on my visit with my dad we waited for over 3 hours without getting help. We finally saw someone but they told my dad there was nothing they could do for him - gave us incorrect details and this left us extremely unhappy. Also the time wasted and the delay. We also had an appointment at out patients clinic and we were kept in a room without help for over 45 minutes. In our opinion the service we received was below standard and the hospital very dirty.

A& E staff should not be turning patients away and someone should have apologised for the 45 minutes delay in the out patients department as we think these delays could have been putting my dad's life at risk.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.
