I had attended a and e on Saturday and was asked to come back for a quick follow up. On Monday I went back and assumed that since this was no longer an emergency I would not need to go to a and e. I found it very difficult to wot out from the signage where I should go. I finally found a normal reception area and they explained I needed a and e after all. When I pointed out just conversationally that the signage was poor the response was less than satisfactory. The women was amazed, not to say incredulous and patronising. The receptionist I came upon through the a and e entrance was not,a and e I think and was equally unhelpful. By trial and error I finally found a and e reception. Unbelievably, the lady there was extremely brusque (perhaps she had be pre warned,I neither know or care), but at last I received medical attention. Both nurses who attended to me were the epitome of professionalism. Indeed the first one could teach your receptionists a lot about customer care. I was seething by this time and vented by spleen but she listening properly and told me how to complain. None of this was her fault and I could not possibly stay mad without making her uncomfortable, for which I would never have forgiven myself. In short the signage needs a good review and some staff training would not go amiss.
