"not allowed to see a doctor"

About: General practices in Tayside

(as the patient),

I suffer from depression and anxiety. Reception staff at the health centre in forfar don't seem interested. Will only give me a phone call from a nurse in about three days time. However, I am not on the phone, and it feels like they just do not want to know. Makes the condition worse, but if I try and reason with them it's a brick wall, and my condition can lead to over reaction, so I cannot go near the place.

With Christmas coming up, I am not in a good way (I'm on my own) and last year nearly ended with a nervous breakdown (I've had one before and I know the symptoms) but I feel that they don't give a monkeys?

'See your GP' I'm told. Don't make me laugh.

Dear "dipsy048"

Thank you for taking the time to feedback via Care Opinion.

I am very sorry to learn of your difficulties in being able to make an appointment at your GP practice.

I would wish to clarify that GP practices are not managed by NHS Tayside and any feedback should be directed to the Practice Manager.

I would therefore advise that you contact the GP practice directly. However, if you would prefer me to pass on your concerns, please email hsciangus.tayside@nhs.net and provide your contact details and details of which practice you are referring to.

Kind regards

Karen Fletcher, Lead Nurse
