"Lack of information"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

My wife was referred by her GP. She attended in May. Then had a scan in September. No information given about results. Received a phone call from breast services on Oct 2nd saying she had been referred for a review. No reason given. Despite calls to cardiology and breast unit no one could give a reason for the referral. My wife had a mastectomy in 1992 and nearly died. To have a call like that with no reason or warning has caused her immense distress. She has been treated abominally. Dreadful patient care.

I'm so sorry to hear that your wife was so upset by the telephone call she received. Would you be kind enough to send us a private e-mail with your wife's details or call us so that we can arrange for the Senior Management Team at Breast Services to look into what happened and try to offer some support.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Marion
