"Very clear communication"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (Ward 18)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 18. Cannot fault staff in the ward - both medical and nursing staff. Communication with doctor very clear and fully understand care plan. Junior doctor also communicating very well. Staff updating relatives also - fully involved. Medication received as and when required. Most days food has been quite good although family do bring food in also. One minor thing would prefer cup of tea after meal instead of before. Single room and pleased with cleanliness.

Dear UHM11

Thank you so much for your very kind posting on Care Opinion. It is really good to see that staff communicated well with you and that you were clear about your plan of care. I am glad that your medication was administered on time also as this is often a real worry for patients.

I note your comments about the food and your preference for having tea after your meal. I will discuss this with the Senior Charge Nurses and I will also speak to Morag McGhee the Senior Nurse who leads for Food, Fluid & Nutrition for the site and carry out an audit regarding mealtime drinks and patients preferences.

Thank you once again for sharing your feedback with us and I will ensure this is shared with all the team.

Kind regards

Eileen
