I attended Dewsbury Health Centre wound clinic last week. Helen the nurse in clinic was brilliant she did a Doppler and told me everything she was doing and why. I have a nasty wound on my left leg which she looked at she told me I needed a compression bandage because my circulation was bad. She was unable to put the bandage on because my Doppler had raised some concerns and my left calf was a lot bigger than my right which raised a concern I may have a DVT.
Helen said I would need to see the GP so he could refer me to the hospital for a test. I am lucky my practice is in the health centre so I was able to get an appointment later that day. The GP sent me to the hospital for the test the next morning it has come back clear so I will be able to see Helen again this week and have the compression bandages applied. I just wanted to feedback on how caring and kind Helen was and how she took the time to explain everything to me she is a true professional and definitely knows Her stuff
