"Out of hours GP appointment "

About: East Surrey Hospital

I thought I would leave this review to help others who have to visit this hospital as an out of hours emergency patient.

I had to call 111 on Saturday midday.

The earliest appointment was at this hospital, I live in Stoneleigh so it was a good 50 minutes in a taxi as I wasn’t able to drive because I was so ill.

This post code will take you further on than the hospital so be careful when you are approaching the entrance as a sat nav may tell you to continue right past the hospital.

After about 20 mins of driving in the wrong direction ( remember I am not from around the redhill area) the lovely taxi man had to get out and walk to the A&E department and ask where abouts the out of hours GP clinic was . NO ONE knew... we must have asked at least 6-7 different members of staff, and very nearly missing my appointment was eventually pointed in the right direction.

Just so anyone knows, you have to go in the main entrance and on your right before you get to Boots there is a tiny corridor . Go down this and you will see a waiting room and it is there you check in.

Once I was checked in, my appointment ran roughly tens minutes late but that’s to be expected. The GP was very nice and was shocked that I had to come from Stoneleigh to Redhil in my condition but nevertheless treated me rapidly.

I suppose what I would suggest to you is that can you please make ALL staff members whether or not they are a nurse, doctor, cleaner or cafe staff aware of whereabouts this clinic is as it was very distressing to not be able to find the clinic.

I was clearly in agony and very close to tears by the time I reached my appointment and this would of been reduced if staff had been a lot more knowledgeable and sympathetic.
