"I felt reassured and also safe"

About: Leigh Infirmary / Ear, Nose and Throat Leigh Infirmary / General surgery

(as the patient),

I had to go to Leigh Infirmary today to have a tonsillectomy, being a young adult with little experience in a day surgery as a patient, it was quite daunting and nerve racking for me, however because of all the staff on Ward 3, especially Bev and Michelle, who were my main nurses for the day, I felt reassured and also safe, which was very important to me.

I felt the day surgery practice was very organised and efficient and I was never left not knowing what was going on due to the constant and clear communication I received, this included all the ward nurses, theatre team, the anaesthetic team and also the surgeons. Every face was friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble, I truly appreciate how kind and professional all the staff who looked after me at Leigh infirmary were today, thanks a lot.

Thank you for sharing your recent experience on attending Leigh Infirmary, and your kind words in respect of the treatment and care you received there. It was pleasing to note that the whole journey was clearly communicated to you and that you felt safe and in caring hands. Staff will much appreciate your feedback.

Kind Regards
