About: Whitworth Hospital

Why are you selling the most unhealthy snacks - crisps and chocolate- in your vending machine in what is a hospital? Not good at all.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about the vending machine that is situated in the Minor Injuries Unit at Whitworth Hospital.

Your comments have been taken very seriously and have been shared with the Integrated Facilities Manager.

All of our vending machines are managed by an external company and we have an arrangement with them for the contents to be within the NHS Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) framework guidelines that:

• 80% of confectionary and sweets do not to exceed 250kal in any vending machine

• Only 0% Sugar sweetened beverages to be sold (This exceeds CQUIN requirements)

If you would like to speak to us further about your concerns please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Experience Team on 01773 525119 and a member of our team will be able to help you.
