"Getting Appointments"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

Mavor Medical Practice, terrible to get appointments, never available, after phoning and being kept waiting to speak to someone.

Only take appointments for a week ahead and if they have none then you must phone in each morning sharp to check if there is anything available for the following week.

Now that they have started to take online appointments it is even worse as not all people have internet access.

Dear Centenial,

I'm sorry to read about your concerns, I can understand your frustrations. GP practices are 'independent contractors' and as such are responsible for investigating and responding to any concerns a person may have about their services directly.

They are not using care opinion at the moment, so won't have access to this. I will however forward this to the Practice Manager and I'd invite you to contact them directly to discuss your frustrations and to see if they can resolve the issues you are experiencing.

In the meantime, there may be other services that you could access rather than your GP. The NHS Lanarkshire website "Meet the Experts" section is a guide on the range of services that local healthcare professionals provide throughout Lanarkshire.
