"Helpful but hot!"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Maternity care

(as a service user),

The staff are all very helpful and can't do enough for you. The only problem is the heating is on 24/7 and it is far too hot the ward staff have no control over this and I'm pretty sure a hot temperature is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.  I think the hospital should be maintained at 18°c and I don't get why it isn't to be honest it's what they recommend your home to be for your baby so they should lead by example

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch and for your feedback about the temperate of our maternity wards. This is something that our estates team control and we do report to them when patients inform us that the temperature is uncomfortable. I’m sorry that you felt the ward was too hot during your visit. I will share your feedback with our estates and facilities team so that they are aware. I am however very pleased to hear that you found all of the staff very helpful during your stay.
Best wishes

Janine Kettle
Deputy Head of Midwifery
