"Husbands treatment involvement and discharge..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Husband was discharged over ten days ago with a broken neck and other bones, one of the breaks being missed off being mentioned on the discharge letter. We live in the South West and the discharge location was" unknown" on the discharge paperwork and no notes were given to him and now after a third time of calling Preston Hospital they still have not sent a letter to a hospital despite the patient having to call the ward three times and each time being told they would do the letter to the hospital.

The patient was never shown his images and a plan of treatment was never explained as to how long he needs to wear his brace or how long the other bones will take to heal.

My advice.

If you are in a helicopter and have a choice of hospital and Preston is one of the options, go elsewhere.

However the care team as in Nurses and carers were very nice despite the usual very noisy working practices during the night.

Hello and thank you for your review. I was sorry to read of your husbands injury and your comments relating to your experience whilst visiting our Trauma Unit.

Please could I ask that you consider contacting our PALS (patient advice and liaison service) on 01772 522972 and relay your comments as we take patient feedback very seriously and they can look into this further.

They are open Monday - Friday 9-4pm with an answering service out of these hours.

I hope your husband is on the road to recovery now, thank you.
