"Absolutely shocking..."

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

Arrive at a&e to a 6 hour waiting period for illnesses the longer we are here the longer the waiting time goes up even tho there is less and less patients. Now been here for 8 hours and the wait time is 12 hours. Still not even been seen by a doctor. There’s patients coming in being seen by nurse and doctors and left, I totally understand somethings are treatable and diagnosable than others but too not even been seen by a doctor after this long is totally unacceptable.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience of the Emergency Department has not met your expectations. As we are sure that you understand, our service can become extremely busy at times. Sometimes this does mean waiting longer than anyone would like, for which we apologise. We are always working to reduce waiting times and ensure each patient is seen as soon as possible according to their need. I would be happy to discuss any concerns you have with you further, please contact me on 0115 924 9924 ext 83700 (via my PA) if you would like to do this.

Kind regards

Clare Mayfield

Matron for the Emergency Department
