"Colonoscopy"

About: York Hospital

I arrived at the time of my appointment on time and only waited 10min for a nurse to tell me what was going to happen during my visit. I changed in a cubical and waited about 10 min to have my blood pressure and height, weight and pulse checked and was reassured things were ok. The nurse went through some of the options I could choose about pain control. Then had to wait maybe 30min to be taken where the procedure was to happen. The staff of about 4 or 5 greeted me and made me comfortable. I was told what would happen and that at any time I could stop the procedure. The person doing the procedure talked to me during the process and was very reassuring. A nurse sat at my side throughout the procedure and talked to me about trying to be calm and relaxed, and she was very successful. The procedure was about 15 to 20 min and didn’t cause me any discomfort. I was told what had been found and left with a written report. I had tea and biscuits and a chat about aftercare and left soon after. Professionalism throughout and care give. No worries at all, thank you

Thank you for letting us know about the service you received during your colonoscopy. It's great to hear that you were reassured throughout the whole process and were consulted about your options during the procedure. I will make sure to pass your comments onto the colonoscopy team.
