About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Care of the Elderly (Wards 13-16)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 14

Well looked after. Ward runs very smoothly with seamless shift changes. Requires extra time when being moved. Staff respond to this by taking their time. Medication arrives on time. Doctors easy to approach. Understands condition. Has had OT and Physiotherapy sessions, which are going well. Patient lives alone and daughter comfortable speaking to staff and obtaining updates. Staff informed patient to ask for extra medication if required.
