I was referred by my GP to the dermatology department with a suspected melanoma on my arm. I was seen in just 11 days by a registrar and trainee specialist GP who were very polite, respectful and thorough. They examined all my moles and advised me on skin care. The consultant then looked at the suspected melanoma and although he didn’t think it was a melanoma he referred me to have the lump taken out and to be tested just to be sure. I asked for a cancellation when rung by the polite and efficient administrator and was seen within 9 days. The surgeon did the excision quickly and efficiently, both he and the attending nurse were very polite, respectful and helpful. I am very impressed by the speed and efficiency of this service. Well done the NHS!
