I’ve been a recent daily visitor at The Royal Surrey twice, on both of which occasions my brother was ambulanced to hospital then admitted. It has given me the opportunity to see how truly caring the staff can be, whatever their medical background or role. Despite the seriousness of his situation, we all as a family felt reassured by the level of care my brother received, by the amount of accessible information we were given and by the ability of seemingly everyone working at the hospital to retain a sense of humour - it really helped us!
It is difficult to distinguish, but a huge shout out to the ambulance crews in particular. They have such a tough job but on both occasions, we found them calm, cheerful and reassuring...and absolutely professional.
Everyone has been a star. Thank you all.
"Our local hospital - thank goodness!"
