"Why don't the doctors exactly prescribe or instruct about Gastroenteritis?"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Gastroenterology Washwood Heath Urgent Care Centre

(as the patient),

My son 2yrs old has got some of sick of Gastroenteritis 3months ago and recently.

First time, we took him to GP near our house and doctor didn't recommend any medicine.

Just told us to Give him water little by little with many time .

But he couldn't eat, drink anything at all because of vomiting.

He wasn't get better at all and he was getting skinny more and more, so we called 111 after we could go to Heartlands Hospital.

They told us to give my son drinking water for low blood sugar every 10 minutes with 10ml for 6hours.

His blood‐sugar level getting better and he didn't vomit at that time.

So they send us to back home.

But next morning, He lost consciousness and called ambulance.

He needed drip asap, but doctors couldn't find his vein at all with pricked needles and groped many many time on every hands and foots.

That was a totally torture for us.

We went to see doctors many time before but he needed to do that.

And yesterday, He started vomiting all day. He stopped to eat since two days ago.

So we were just scared he will be in same situation as before.

We took him to Washwood Heath Urgent Care Centre.

The dr we saw there we found to be very rude.

I tried to explain what happened to my son with memo but they stopped me and said, I don't want read that and carried on to ask my husband.

Also they asked us to get pee from son for test.

But my son kept vomiting so how can he pee then?

They were acting like they were too busy so they sent us off from the  consultation room.

That night, my son got worse because of tired and no proper treatment.

After he vomited bile with a bit blood because he puked too much.

I want to say, why nobody gave us proper advise and recommend to use drinking water for low blood sugar before he's got worse.

We can do that if they told us What kind of stuff should we give him, How Long, How much??

I actually really upset with this two times accidents.

Parents are not doctor, we just get knowledge from internet if we are good at doing that.

But we can't find exactly same symptom online.

My son always hasn't got proper treatment until he almost dying.

He is just two and he still can't speak.

Please don't left vomiting very young children with not practical advice.
